The Rathinavel Subramaniam Educational Trust was established in December 1983 to further the cause of education in Tamilnadu. It was established in the memory of Master Rathinavel Subramaniam, son of Dr. K.V. Kupusamy, Managing Director of K.P.V. Textiles, Sulur and Chairperson of R.V.S Educational Trust.

          The Trust runs several Institutions of Arts and Science and Health Sciences. The Trust felt that yeoman services should be rendered to the society by training nurses to meet the health needs of society. Therefore, the College of Nursing was started in 1993 with a four year B.Sc Degree programme. Subsequently a 2 years programme leading to M.Sc (N) and 3 ½ years leading to Diploma Nursing was started in 2006.

Scope of Nursing
          Our country today needs health care members who can render professional quality health care to the community at large. The Nursing programme prepares a nurse to meet this demand, which will continue to increase in the years to come. This ensures good job opportunities for the nurses in the community and hospital settings. A graduate nurse can take up a job in the following settings

b) Hospital
c) Industries
d) Schools
e) Services (Military)
f) Nursing Educational Institutions

         The opportunity to pursue higher studies and Doctorate in Nursing is now open to a graduate nurse. The lack of nurses in developed countries like USA, Europe etc has opened the doors for Global placements for nurses in this decade.
